By The Solitary Lake

By the solitary lake she sat and wept,
With tears in her eyes dripping down her face,
Down into the crystal clear lake,
Every drop like an added addition to the already full lake.
Wiping the tears off her wrinkly pink face,
By the solitary lake she sat.
And looked into the water, crystal clear and pure.

She saw two people merrily in love,
She saw a girl in her golden youth with her love,
She saw them melt away in each others embrace,
Melt away in each other arms,
Unattached with the world,
She saw them love each other as though they were the only two people in the whole wide world,
She saw them look into each others eyes brimming with love,
Enjoying their sweet nothings,
She saw them dance away merrily whiling away time in their cupid struck fate

Until,
Her vision turned blurry,
With the same water filling her eyes and the same sorrow filling her heart again,
Making their way past her face down into the crystal clear lake,
Every drop adding salinity to the pure freshwater lake.
Clearing the tears in her eyes,
By the solitary lake she sat,
Looking into the deep waters yet again.

She saw the man kneeling in front of his girl with a ring in his hand,
She saw the girl beam in happiness in her white gown, looking breathtakingly beautiful like an angel in disguise,
She saw the love of their marriage bloom and blossom into eternal love,
She saw the pregnant pain and the motherly bliss of the girl,
She saw the scenes roll away in front of her eyes from parenthood to senescence with their love blooming into unexplained infinity with the passage of time,
Then, finally, she saw the boy,
She saw the boy leaving the girl, forever,
To carry on his part of the eternal journey of life,
She saw in the girl, the agony of lost love and lost life,
Finally, she saw herself in the girl.

"Oh my love! I miss you! " she said,
Wiping the tears off her wrinkly pink face,
In the reminiscence of her lost eternal love,
By the solitary lake she sat.
And wept.
